Automated Coolant Filling System for Enhanced Productivity

Achieve Precision, Reduce Downtime and Ensure Consistent Coolant Quality with Our Cutting-Edge Automated Coolant Filling Systems

Automated coolant top-up systems

The function of these systems is to hold and deliver a consistent ratio of coolant to DM water to multiple coolant systems in the shop floor. The coolant is sucked from the oil barrel through a dosing pump and pumps out a pre-set ratio of oil to water into the tank. The system is equipped with a stirrer to maintain consistency of mixing. The system tops up the coolant at the correct ratio into individual coolant tanks automatically, once the level of coolant in the tank becomes low. This way the consistency of coolant is maintained in all the coolant systems in the plant.

Benefits of Automated Coolant Top-Up Systems

  • No Manual Effort: Automates coolant mixing and refilling.
  • Consistent Quality: Maintains precise oil-to-water ratio.
  • Better Accuracy: Enhances component finish and precision.
  • Efficiency: Prevents downtime and reduces wastage.
  • Cost-Effective: Saves labor and extends equipment lifespan.
Automated Coolant Top-Up System for Consistent Oil-Water Ratio

How It Works

The Science Behind the System

  1. Coolant Draw: The system draws coolant from an oil barrel through a dosing pump.
  2. Precise Mixing: The pump mixes coolant and demineralized water at a pre-set ratio.
  3. Consistency Maintenance: A built-in stirrer ensures the mixture remains uniform.
  4. Automated Top-Up: The system detects low levels in individual tanks and refills automatically.

    FAQs

    1. What are the key benefits of automating coolant top-up?

Automating the top-up process eliminates manual intervention, ensures consistent oil-water ratios, reduces human error and improves coolant quality across the plant.

    2. What maintenance is required for the filling system?

Periodic inspection of the dosing pump, stirrer and level sensors is recommended. Regular cleaning of filters and check valves will ensure optimal operation.

    3. Can this be retrofitted onto existing machines?

Yes, the system can be integrated with most standard coolant tanks on existing shop floors without significant modifications.

    4. How often does coolant concentrate need refilling?

The frequency depends on machine usage and coolant consumption. However, the system ensures that top-ups are only triggered when necessary, optimizing usage.

    5. What types of coolants are compatible? Any limitations?

The system works with most standard water-soluble coolants used in industrial machining. Compatibility with highly viscous or synthetic fluids should be checked case by case

    6. How is the oil-to-water mixing ratio controlled?

A dosing pump accurately meters oil from the barrel, mixing it with DM water at a pre-set ratio. This ensures uniform concentration for every top-up.

    7. What triggers the automated top-up process?

The system monitors the coolant tank level using sensors. When levels drop, the system activates to top up the coolant to the required concentration.

    8. Does the system improve machining quality or component accuracy?

Yes, consistent coolant quality results in stable machining conditions, reducing dimensional variations and enhancing component surface finish.

    9. What role does the stirrer play in the system?

The stirrer ensures homogeneity in the coolant mixture, preventing concentration gradients and maintaining consistent performance.

    10. Can it serve multiple machines from a single unit?

Yes, the system is designed to support centralized coolant delivery, topping up multiple tanks simultaneously or sequentially.
